چکیده

We employ nonperturbative flow equations for an investigation of the effective action in Yang-Mills theories. We compute the effective action Γ[B] for constant color magnetic fields B and examine Savvidy’s conjecture of an unstable perturbative vacuum. Our results indicate that the absolute minimum of Γ[B] occurs for B = 0. Gluon condensation is described by a nonvanishing expectation value of the regularized composite operator FμνF μν which agrees with phenomenological estimates.

Indications for Gluon Condensation From Nonperturbative Flow Equations

We employ nonperturbative flow equations for the description of the effective action in Yang-Mills theories. We find that the perturbative vacuum with vanishing gauge field strength does not correspond to the minimum of the Euclidean effective action. The true ground state is characterized by a nonvanishing gluon condensate.

Integrating out Gluons in Flow Equations

We present an exact nonperturbative flow equation for the average action for quarks which incorporates the effects of gluon fluctuations. With suitable truncations this allows one to compute effective multiquark interactions in dependence on an infrared scale k. Our method amounts to integrating out the gluons with momenta larger than k.

Effective field theory approach to parton-hadron conversion in high energy QCD processes.

A QCD based effective action is constructed to describe the dynamics of confinement and symmetry breaking in the process of parton-hadron conversion. The deconfined quark and gluon degrees of freedom of the perturbative QCD vacuum are coupled to color singlet collective fields representing the non-perturbative vacuum with broken scale and chiral symmetry. The effective action recovers QCD with ...

Longitudinal Conduction in Cross Flow Heat Exchanger with Condensation

The deterioration of the performance of a cross flow heat exchanger with condensation due to the longitudinal conduction was investigated. For a relatively small change of wall temperature along the flow directions which was shown to be common in many applications, the energy equations were solved numerically. An iterative method was used to solve the resulting equations of the finite differenc...

Baby steps beyond rainbow-ladder

We discuss the impact of including corrections beyond single gluon exchange in light mesons within the nonperturbative framework of DysonSchwinger equations (DSE) and Bethe-Salpeter equations (BSE). We do this by considering unquenching effects in the form of hadronic resonance contributions, notably pion exchange, and by the inclusion of the dominant gluon self-interactions to the quark-gluon ...
